Are you new to running but actively obsessed? Do you stare blankly when you hear words like “Fartlek” “LT” “PR” or “Vibram’s?” Here’s a list of useful sites that will provide you with race information, training guides, gear reviews and a great online community of runners.
Runnersworld.com – Beloved running magazine! They post most of their articles here, have very active boards/forums and cool interactive training guides.
Coolrunning.com – Part of the Active.com network, this is a portal site with news, training, race information and active forums.
DailyMile – This is the Facebook of the running world. I totally heart the DailyMile! It’s an awesome online training tool and social networking site. The people on DailyMile are great, helpful and very supportive. If you join be sure to add me too!
Racevine – If DailyMile is the Facebook of the running world, then Racevine is the Yelp for races! Go here to find out everything you ever wanted to know about your race (enough aid stations? cool expo? bling? porta potties?) from real runners.
Athlinks – For people who race a lot – Athlinks is absolute heaven. I was completely blown away by the fact they they already had all of the data on my race results before I even signed up. You’ll be sure to geek out over the amount of info they have there.
