If you’d like a super humbling trail running experience complete with a gorgeous backdrop of most of Los Angeles County, then you *have* to try this trail…
Westridge Trail is located in Pacific Palisades and is part of the Santa Monica Mountains. There are two paths that you can take from the trailhead: the fireroad (a wide and gradual uphill) and the not so beaten path (super steep and hilly). The trail starts at about 1,300 ft elevation and peaks at about 2,003 ft. You can take either path to San Vicente Mountain Park + an old and historic Nike Missile Station for an out and back route of 7.8 miles. Here’s the elevation map:

Interested in a sneak peak of the views? Awesome… I brought my flip with me on my last run just for that very reason:

View Santa Monica Mtns Trail Heads in a larger map
I’m a trail runner / mountain goat before anything else. If you haven’t tried your hand at some off roading in Los Angeles – you *need* to check out these trails.
